A: Windows
98SE, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows
XP. Q:

$S19.95. Q.
What can I backup and restore exactly?
A: Mail
Cache performs backups and restorations of all MS
Outlook Express data. When launched it will automatically
determine the configuration of identities and accounts,
and backup any data selected by the user, including
Messages
- all mail folders and messages are stored, maintaining
directory structure. Settings
- configuration of accounts and identities found in
Tools -> Options in OE, as well as several other
preferences. Accounts
- acount-related information such as mail servers,
usernames and passwords (for mail accounts), and news
and directory serivces accounts.
Message

the rules that govern automatic filing of incoming
and sent mail items. Block

Though its primary intended use is as a disaster recovery
utility, Mail Cache can be used between any two computers.
For example, you could use Mail Cache to copy your
email setup to a newly imaged machine, or to synchronize
two different email accounts.
Q: Where can I backup and restore
my data to/from? A: Currently you can only use Mail
Cache to backup to locations on your local PC or network.
You can backup to removeable devices, but you cannot
backup directly to CD or DVD. However,
you can restore files from a CD or DVD or any sort
of removeable device as well as any computer on your
local network. Q:
How are backups made and stored? Do I need to manage
the backup files once I create them? A: Full backups of all specified
data are created each time you conduct a backup. Mail
Cache will overwrite any existing backups, making
sure that you are not occupying uncessary disk space
with a legacy of backup files. Of course, it is possible
to keep a legacy of backups if you want to: just move
the backup files to a unique directory after they
are created. Backups
are compressed and include CRC-32 checksums to ensure
data integrity. Light encryption is also used and
pssword protected to ensure that your sensitive documents
are secure. Q.
What is your software support policy?
A: The
standard iSupport maintenance package includes email-based
support (Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 6pm GMT +0800,
excluding holidays), Web support (FAQ knowledge base,
download, etc.) (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), and
software updates all via the web.
With the email-based support,
support requests are to be initiated via email, which
makes it easier for the requestor to attach the necessary
information such as error messages and screen shots.
Although support requests are initiated via email,
our Technical Support staff may respond via phone,
fax, email, instant messager, etc. For an installation
to receive support and software updates, all the licenses
must be current on their Software Updates and Support
subscriptions. For
phone and on site support, contact us support@htmlab.net. |
